About

Lucy Rogers is a British artist and researcher, working with photography.

Rogers studied Fine Art at Central St Martins, London, where she started using photography to record her site-specific installations and sculptural works. In 2013, she moved to Germany and specialised in photography at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. During her Masters studies, she was the recipient of three scholarships and awards.

Her work focuses on the architectural interior as a scene through which to explore the fundaments of photography as a construction of time and space. In her work, architecture is explored like a sculpture or a film set; real and familiar spaces become estranged as if examined for the first time.

Since 2017, Rogers is based in London and has travelled to Armenia, Lebanon and Jordan, in pursuit of her forthcoming photography and research projects. In September 2019, Rogers will begin AHRC funded research at the University of Westminster.
